My Favorite Tools for Sanity

Ducks In A Row

Ah, the relief of having our ducks in a row!

Life is busy. And as entrepreneurs and purpose-driven pros, we have a lot going on in our brains. Right?

That’s why my favorite tools are ones that make life simpler, save time, and free-up head space for more important matters—like coming up with your most-awesomely authentic brand!

Today I’m going to share my sanity-keeping tools with you:

  1. Want life to be simpler when it comes to your passwords?

Remember the good old days of having a notebook with your passwords written inside? Well those days are gone, my friends (or they should be). My favorite tool that helps simplify all of this is LastPass, a “freemium password manager that stores encrypted passwords online.”

Over the holidays, with my house full of guests and dogs and merriment, I lost my LastPass master password (yikes!) and figured it would be easier to move to another country and start a new life as a different person than it would be to reset 300 individual passwords.

Thankfully, I found a browser that remembered my password, and I was able to update it. Phew! Now I’m keeping it somewhere safe and secret (but hopefully not so secret that I can’t find it).

    Check out LastPass here.

  2. Have you found yourself digging through a trash can looking for your car keys?

I hate to admit it, but this happened to me…fortunately only once (so far). During a family event at my mother’s house, everyone was packing up to leave and my keys went missing. With the help of Tile I was able to find them in the outside trash can. Still today I have no idea how they got in there.

Another time, I had to take my daughter to school but my keys were nowhere to be found. Turns out my 3-year-old put them in her purse (obviously). If your child has a favorite toy (that somehow always goes missing during the most inopportune moments), Tile is perfect.

    Check out Tile here.

  3. Do you misplace your phone all the time too?

In the laundry basket. In the crack between the car seat and the center console. Under a pillow. Abandoned at a friend’s house. On the train. If you have an iPhone (or other Apple devices), setting up Find My Phone is a no-brainer. It’s really as simple as enabling the function on your phone.

Here’s how to enable Find My Phone for your Apple devices.

Google makes finding your devices pretty easy also—but either way, you have to activate this functionality. Do it today! Believe me, you’ll be glad you did.

  4. Are you a visual person who wants to streamline projects?

As a visual person, I’ve used Trello for years and just recently started to use it to collaborate with clients. It helps me keep projects organized and keeps my clients in the loop so everyone can stay on track.

It’s much easier than sending a bunch of emails back and forth because everything is one place!

    Check out Trello here.

  5. Want a better way to organize ideas than Post-It Notes?

This is sort of where all of my thoughts and plans and ideas live, so that my actual brain can focus on the task at hand. OneNote keeps my notes organized and accessible from all of my devices.

My brainstorms, to-do lists, shopping lists and recipes are all ready to grab and work on at any time. It’s my best friend at work, and in my personal life.
